Menorca features numerous public holidays and annual festivals, together with lively street entertainment and a host of recreational activities.

Popular festivals in Menorca include the following events.

Annual Menorca Festivals


  • January: Victory of Alfonso III over the Muslims, with a range of celebrations and street entertainment taking place each year during the middle of the month, centred around the town of Ciutadella
  • February: Carnival, featuring many colourful processions and fancy dress parties all over Menorca, marking the arrival of lent
  • April: Festa Sant Francesco, held each year on April 2nd, the feast of St. Francis is celebrated all across the Balearic Islands
  • June: Corpus Christi, a famous Spanish event, with festivities throughout the island
  • August: Festa de Sant Llorenc, notable equestrian event taking place each year during the second week on the month
  • August: Assumption of the Virgin, held on August 15th, with festivities all over Menorca and the rest of the country
  • October: Festa dies Butifarro, taking place each year in Sant Joan, on the nearby island of Mallorca, known for its tasty sausages
