Home to around 70,000 inhabitants and occupying an enviable location, the island of Menorca lies on the eastern side of Spain and is one of the country's famed Balearic Islands. Known for its superb weather and mild winters, Menorca tends to lead a quieter pace of life than the neighbouring islands of Ibiza and Mallorca.

Around 24 km / 15 miles long by 10 km / 6 miles wide, Menorca contains a number of large towns are villages, with Mao being the lively capital and home to many of Menorca's most popular attractions, standing on the southern side of the island, alongside an impressive natural harbour. Also worth mentioning, the busy town of Ciutadella is situated on the northwestern side of Menorca and is full of things to see and do.

Northern and southern Menorca differ greatly, with the north coastline being home to a number of sheer cliffs and exposed rock faces, with the south coast features plenty of sandy coves and beaches. Other notable towns and villages on Menorca include Aiaior, Es Mercadel and Ferreres, all of which are well connected to the rest of the island.
